Former India captain Virat Kohli was left fuming at captain Hardik Pandya after he missed out on a free hit that was gifted to him by Australia’s Marcus Stoinis. The incident happened in the 18th over of the match which was being played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Australia were bundled out for 188, and India needed some solid batting to close the match as soon as possible.

However, the game eventually ended up being a close thriller as India top order blew away in the first ten overs. The likes of Ishan Kishan, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav were removed in regular intervals as India were reduced to 20/3. At one stage, even Shubman Gill was also given LBW which meant that they were reduced to 20/4. However, that decision was changed after DRS showed that the ball would have gone onto miss the middle stumps.
Meanwhile, coming back to Pandya incident, it all happened in the 18th over when all-rounder Marcus Stoinis tried to rattle the India captain with some aggressive bowling. However, it was the Australian who got rattled with the aggression and even overstepped which meant a no ball.
Here Pandya had a great opportunity and could have whacked the ball out of the park, but missed out on the opportunity. This left former India captain Virat Kohli fuming.
