Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra stated in an official YouTube video that the World Test Championship should be organized by having three matches rather than one.

He questioned the International Cricket Council as to why the World Test Championship is being held in England again.
After a draw in the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy match, and with Sri Lanka losing to New Zealand in their 1st Test clash, India advanced to the WTC final.

The first edition of WTC began in 2019, and the Blackcaps won the title in 2021 after defeating India by eight wickets. New  Zealand skipper Kane Williamson’s brilliant innings of 52 runs in the final helped the Kiwis lift the title. The World Test Championship final will begin on June 7th at the Oval ground in England. This match between India and Australia will be very exciting because both countries are currently ranked first and second in the ICC team ranking list.

Aakash Chopra tweeted from his official twitter account

“Why do WTC Finals happen only in England? Neutral venue but it mirrors non-Asian conditions. Why does it have only one game? Why not have a Test series to determine the World Test Champion? Why not have one test each at home and one at a neutral venue? Ambitious…yes, of course ½”

Aakash Chopra believes that the conditions in England will be unsuitable for team India. He proposed a three-match series, with one match at home, one at the opponent's home, and one at a neutral location.

Referring to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Chopra said that the Indian team is consistently performing well. He further went on to say that in the last 4 series, India have been winning the matches continuously, and that it is indeed a matter of pride for us.
