Breaking News - South Africa Name 15-man Squad For ODI World Cup 2023

South Africa has had some strong World Cup teams, but they have yet to secure the championship. They want to end the drought in the upcoming ODI World Cup. Captain Temba Bavuma, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, David Miller, and Rassie van der Dussen are the specialist batters in the squad. At the same time, Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen are the two wicketkeeping options for them, with Tristan Stubbs missing out.

Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, Sisanda Magala, Gerald Coetzee, and Marco Jansen are the six pacers included in the squad. Youngster Dewald Brevis could not find a place in the team. Lizaad Williams, the highest wicket-taker for South Africa in their recent T20I series against Australia, also missed out.

Keshav Maharaj is one of two frontline spinners alongside Tabraiz Shamsi. Aiden Markram provides a third spin option. All three players are making their World Cup debuts alongside five other first-timers: Temba Bavuma, Anrich Nortje, Marco Jansen, Sisanda Magala, and Reeza Hendricks.

Proteas Men Announce South Africa's ODI World Cup 2023 Squad:

South Africa are set to play a five-match ODI series at home against Australia. The first ODI is scheduled in Bloemfontein on Thursday, September 7. After this series, Temba Bavuma and Co. will play two warm-up matches in Thiruvananthapuram ahead of the ODI World Cup. They will begin their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on October 7 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
