Washington Sundar
He Is Not In The Race To The World Cup Squad - Aakash Chopra

The India-Australia series finished with a 2-1 win after Australia won over India in the last match yesterday by 66 runs. The 3rd match was a dead rubber match played at the Saurashtra International Stadium in Gujarat. The Australian team didn’t make a mistake like the previous games, after winning the toss, they decided to bat first on a good batting surface at the Saurashtra International Stadium, which is actually heaven for the batters as the ball comes on the bat very easily and many high scoring games, were played at this international venue.

Batting first, Australia put up a massive total of 352 runs. However, it would not be wrong to say that India has made a great comeback in the match by managing to stop on a total of just 352 runs, which was earlier looking to cross more than 420 when Marsh, Warner and Steve Smith were batting thanks to the impressive bowling figures of Bumrah and Krishna, who picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively during the first innings, which stopped them on 352 runs.

India had 12 players left in the Squad before the last match!

In the second innings, we witnessed that after Ishan Kishan got ill before the match and Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad not being picked in the playing 11 due to rest and Asian games for the last dead rubber match, the Indian team was only left with 13 player in the squad from which Ishan was sick, and Ashwin, was given rest after playing first 2 games. So the Indian team has given a chance to Washington Sundar, who has been picked in place of Axar Patel in the Asia Cup 2023 final after he got injured as the Indian team did not have an opening option to open the innings with captain Rohit Sharma as KL Rahul would be batting at number 4 with Suryakumar Yadav after his impressive performance in the last 2 games.

Throwing light on this, Cricket expert Aakash Chopra said,

"Washington Sundar finally got an opportunity to play a match in the last game of the series and no doubt he performed really well, giving only 48 runs in his 10 overs spell with an efficient economy of 4.8 and opening the innings with captain Rohit Sharma, but I don’t think that anyone is looking at his performance in the match.

However, there is a slight chance that around 12 BCCI will share a press release that it’s our final team for the World Cup as today i.e. 28th of September, is the final date, where you need to tell who all the players who will be the part of the main event. I am confirmed that there will be no Washington Sundar in the squad",

said Aakash Chopra in his latest video on his YouTube Channel.

India will be playing their first match of the World Cup match against Australia on 8th of October at Cheapauk Stadium in Chennai.
