Has Nadal won more or Djokovic at the French Open?

Nadal has won a staggering 13 French Open titles, a record at any single tournament in the Open era.

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - No Stopping

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are two legends of the game and are not stopping at any cost. Both these tennis players compete for titles and are often the favorites to win the "Opens," no matter what.

These two legends have faced each other 9 times in the French Open, and the Serbian is behind 2-7 in the clay court battle. The King of Clay has only been beaten twice at the Roland Garros by the Djoker in 2015 and 2021. Coincidentally, the two had their first-ever face-off at the French Open in 2006 in the quarter-finals, and Rafael Nadal won the match due to Djokovic’s retirement.

History Favors the Spaniard

Rafael Nadal has beaten Djokovic on numerous occasions, such as in the Roland Garros semi-finals in 2007 and 2008 and in the finals in 2012. They again met in the 2013 semi-final and the Serbian stretched the match to five sets, however, succumbed to the heroics of the southpaw.

2014 again saw these two face off against each other with the Serbian winning the first set. The Spaniard came back from behind and won the match in four sets. Djokovic lost consecutively six times to Rafael Nadal and finally found a way to beat him in the 2015 French Open.

The King of Clay beat the Serb in the 2020 French Open Final and stretched his record to 7 wins. In 2021, Djokovic avenged his loss and won their face-off, marking just his second victory against his top rival in the French Open.

How Does The Djoker Fare?

The Serb has won the French Open twice in his largely successful career in 2016 and 2021. It was tough for Novak Djokovic to get his first French Open Title as Nadal beat him in the finals on the previous two occasions. He fought hard and came back in 2015 to win the clash, and eventually the Roland Garros.

The road to 2015 final included a victory over Rafael Nadal in the Quarter Finals. Andy Murray even posed a threat to his title hopes stretching the match to five sets in a grueling encounter.

Rafael Nadal is fighting for his 14th Roland Garros Title having won earlier in:

  • 2005
  • 2006
  • 2007
  • 2008
  • 2010
  • 2011
  • 2012
  • 2013
  • 2014
  • 2017
  • 2018
  • 2019
  • 2020

The Spaniard beat the Serb in 2020 French Open final and fast forward to 2022, it is the Djoker who is a defending champion and not the Spaniard. Rafa always rises to the occasion and more so when it comes to battle on the clay court.

The red sand is Nadal's favorite, as his record tells and he would be itching to get his hands on the French Open Trophy once again this year. Even though Djokovic is the defending champion, it is Rafa who is once again the fan-favorite to lift the coveted Trophy.

Rafael Nadal is a different beast when it comes to playing on the Clay Court and only time will tell whether he wins and makes it 8-2 or whether the Serb will manage to fight back and make it 3-7.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
