Australia and India played the first match in a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Friday, 17th March at 1:30 pm IST.

India chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

Australia's Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings, but Australia lost its first wicket for 5 runs, and after playing all 35.4 overs, Australia set up a menial 188-run target. It was the lowest total for the first innings at the Wankhede Stadium in 22 years, and India won the match easily by 5 wickets before 10 overs.

Australia's opening batsman Mitchell Marsh went out all guns blazing in yesterday’s game, even though Australia lost the match. Marsh won the hearts of all cricket lovers with his explosive batting. On the other hand, Mitchell Marsh scored a brilliant 81 off 65 balls at a fantastic strike rate of 124.5  and completed his 14th international half-century.

Former cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra gave a match review on his official YouTube channel, saying that it was a long time since he had seen the spicy pitch at the Wankhede ground, where fast bowlers dominated and this pitch was not favorable for batsmen.

Mohammed Shami bowled Josh inglis in his fourth over, and bowled Cameron Green as his second wicket in the fifth over. Shami collected three important wickets for just 17 runs, which included 2 maiden overs. He bowled only 6 overs with a superb 2.83 economy in this match. Mohammed Siraj bagged 3 wickets for 29 runs, Jadeja took 2 wickets, whereas Kuldeep, Hardik also collected 1 wicket each.

Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for India. The Men in Blue lost their first wicket as Ishan Kishan got deceived for 5 runs. Virat Kohli came at number 3 and lost his wicket after scoring 4 runs, following which Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill got out. India was at 39-4 when middle order batsman KL Rahul came out to bat. Although Rahul has been struggling with poor form for some time, he helped India win the match by playing a brilliant 75* off 91 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja also played a fantastic innings with the bat, scoring 45* runs off 69 balls and was also awarded with the player of the match award. 

Further on in this video, Aaksh Chopra went on to praise Ravindra Jadeja by saying that India had won 3 matches against Australia and that he played a crucial role in those clashes, winning the man of the match award in all those matches.
