Speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his show, Virender Sehwag, former India cricketer and Kohli’s long time teammate, said that even he didn’t think that Kohli will make it this big.
Former India captain Virat Kohli made his debut in 2008, but very few people had imagined that he would turn out to be the master he has become today. Kohli, made his debut against Sri Lanka in August that year, but had a flop show which made sure that he was removed from the side soon after. His brash attitude also made things difficult as it was reported back then that his on-field behaviour had irked some of the selectors who wanted him dropped for his dry run.

Nevertheless, Kohli bounced back and soon got his opportunity in the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 where he scored 79 crucial runs in the dry rubber against West Indies in Johannesburg. He never looked back after that scoring a century against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens.
Speaking to Ranveer Allahbadia on his show, Virender Sehwag, former India cricketer and Kohli’s long time teammate, said that even he didn’t think that Kohli will make it this big.
“We all knew that Virat Kohli was very talented, But I didn't think he would reach this level. But the way he batted against Lasith Malinga in Australia to win us that game, we knew he would be successful. I didn't think he would have so many centuries to his name or score so many runs. He proved me wrong, and it's unbelievable what he has achieved," said Sehwag on Ranveer Allahabadia’s show recently.

"Virat realized very early in his career that he would have to be disciplined if he wanted to play cricket for a long period of time. Very few players have realized this so early. Around the same time, many players came and went. Then Rohit Sharma came into the Test and white-ball teams and there was a competition between the two. Sometimes such a competition helps you improve your game," Sehwag said.
